Let’s be honest—most people don’t avoid Bible study because they don’t care. They avoid it because they’re busy. Life gets hectic, schedules fill up fast, and before you know it, another week has passed without opening your Bible. But if you're ready to take action and get your study time back on track, here are three time management skills that will help.

1. Establish Your Bible Study Priority

Matthew 6:33 tells us, “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”

The truth is, what we prioritize gets done. Ask yourself: Is Bible study truly a priority for me right now?

Take a moment to pray. Ask God how to fit Bible study into your day and your life. Don’t overthink it—just start the conversation.

Then, decide. Don’t wait for the “perfect time” that may never come. Make a firm decision that Bible study matters to you, and commit to making space for it in your routine.

2. Set a Clear, Measurable Goal

The moment you commit, something will try to derail you—every single time. That’s why it’s essential to have a clear goal.

Be specific. Instead of saying, “I want to study more,” try something like: “I will study my Bible for 10 minutes a day, five days a week.” It’s simple, doable, and measurable.

Check in with yourself each week. Did you meet your goal? Did the routine work for your lifestyle? If not, adjust. Your goal should serve you—not stress you out.

3. Create a Dedicated Study Space

Having a set place to study changes everything. Choose a spot in your home that is:

  • Quiet

  • Calm

  • Comfortable

  • Free from distractions

When your family sees you sitting there, they’ll come to recognize that this is your time with God. And when you take care of your soul, you’re better for everyone else too.
